The Annual D.A.R.E. Mile:
When: Saturday, September 27th, 2008 10:00 AM – Rain or Shine!
Where: Zions Reformed Church Parking Lot – 2400 Centre St., Ashland, PA
How:

- A T-shirt will be given to the first 200 Entrants
- Race Day Registration:
- 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
- $12.00
- No T-shirt guaranteed
The course will be a one mile walk/run down Walnut Street, starting at 24th & Walnut. It will finish at 5th & Walnut. Also, it is a very fast course, considering the entire race is downhill
Trophies will be given to those finishing first in their age group, as well as medals for those placing second and third.
The age groups are as follows:
- 8 and under
- 9 to 13
- 14 to 18
- 19 to 24
- 25 to 29
- 30 to 34
- 35 to 39
- 40 to 44
- 45 to 49
- 50 to 59
- 60 and over
Each age group is also split into a female and male section, to ensure fairness. A fifty dollar savings bond will be given to the best overall male and female.
There will also be a D.A.R.E. Graduate category for graduates of North Schuylkill, Immaculate Heart, and Holy Family.
Medallions will be awarded to the:
- fastest male and female, grades seven through nine
- fastest male and female, grades ten through twelve
The overall fastest male and female D.A.R.E. graduates will receive a fifty dollar savings bond as well.
